The African Studies Association UK (ASA UK) is a scholarly organisation and membership body for academics, researchers and others with a scholarly interest in Africa and African Studies. It is administered by the Royal African Society; membership of the Royal African Society automatically includes membership of ASA UK. through the association, we support research on Africa and facilitate links between the UK and African institutions, and between scholars in Africa and the UK, as well as African scholars publishing in Africanist journals in the UK and scholarly journal and book publishing in Africa.

Membership of ASA UK is indispensable for scholars, in particular, early career scholars with an interest in African Studies; you can automatically become a member of ASA UK by joining the Royal African Society. The benefits of membership include free access to the library of the School of Oriental and African Studies, and a free subscription to  African Affairs, the highest ranked african studies journal in the world.
