Africa Research Institute
Africa Research Institute (ARI) is an independent, non-partisan think-tank based in London. It was founded in 2007. ARI aims to reflect, understand and build on the dynamism in Africa today. It seeks to draw attention to ideas and initiatives that have worked in Africa, and identify new ideas where needed. 

African Gender Institute
The African Gender Institute at the University of Cape Town is a teaching, learning and research institute which focuses on issues of gender and development on the African continent.

The Council for the Development of Social Science Research in Africa (CODESRIA) is headquartered in Dakar, Senegal. It was established in 1973 as an independent pan-African research organisation primarily focusing on social sciences research in Africa.

The Centre of African Studies
The University of London's Centre of African Studies is one of largest centre of expertise on Africa outside Africa; it co-ordinates interdisciplinary study, research and discussion on Africa within the University; and promoting a wider awareness of African issues. 

The Electoral Institute for Sustainable Democracy in Africa (EISA) is a not for profit organisation that provides research, analysis and programmes aimed at creating an African continent where democratic governance, human rights and citizen participation are upheld in a peaceful environment.
