The All-Party Parliamentary Group for Sudan and South Sudan is launching an inquiry to examine the current state of UK-Sudan relations, and to inform the appropriate form of the relationship in the future.  We will be seeking evidence, both written and oral, from a diverse range of individuals and organisations in order to make recommendations to UK policymakers on key topic areas.

Taking recent signs of re-engagement through the inaugural UK-Sudan dialogue in March and the UK’s chairmanship of the Khartoum Process as its starting point, this parliamentary inquiry aims to give a balanced assessment of the current relationship between the Governments of the UK and Sudan, and evaluate the possible benefits and drawbacks of further engagement.  The inquiry will primarily welcome written and oral evidence on the four areas highlighted by FCO Africa Director Neil Wigan following his visit to Sudan earlier this year; the conflict areas, migration, extremism, and humanitarian and human rights issues.
