The keynote address was delivered by Prof. Benedict Oramah, President & Chairman of the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), who emphasised the importance of trade finance, the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA), and strategic investment in Africa’s socio-economic transformation.
Speaking on the theme “Honouring the Past, Shaping the Future – The Power of the Narrative”, Prof. Oramah highlighted how Africa’s economic story is evolving and called for stronger collaboration between the public and private sectors to drive sustainable development.
The event began with opening remarks from Arunma Oteh OON, Chair of the Royal African Society, followed by an interactive Q&A session moderated by Omar Ben Yedder, Managing Director of IC Publications. Discussions centered on Africa’s economic resilience, trade opportunities, and the challenges of financing growth across the continent.
Closing remarks were delivered by Ms. Janet Rogan, Director/CEO of the Royal African Society, before guests continued discussions at a networking reception.
